What Do We Do?

Loaves & Fishes is an outreach ministry held each Thursday at Barbara Bennett Park at 4:30pm during the summer months and 4:00 pm during the winter months.  Regardless of the weather conditions we are there, outside, year-round.

The Church is the body of people who believe in Jesus.  The Church building is where the church body meet in order to learn, grow, fellowship with other believers, and prepare themselves for battle against the enemy called sin.  Not all are called to do the same job.  Our ultimate job is battle; and battle includes intercessory prayer, fasting, preaching/teaching, evangelism as well as other jobs that aid personal growth in preparation for outreach.  The front-lines are outside of the Church building and where all believers are called to do battle against the enemy.

So who is the enemy?  By default, anyone who does not believe in Jesus as the son of God, and has not accepted Him and made Him Lord of their life, has chosen satan.  If Jesus isn't chosen, then by default satan has been chosen.  Our battle is to do as Jesus has instructed us in Matthew 28:19-20 called The Great Commission: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Matthew 14:13-21; Mark 6:30-44; Luke 9:10-17; John 6:1-15:

The Feeding of the 5,000 is also known as the "miracle of the five loaves and two fish", because the Gospel of John reports that a boy gave five barley loaves and two small fish that were held up to God,  blessed by Jesus, where everyone saw the miracle of the Loaves & Fishes multiply in abundance, and feed every one of them!  After all were fed, there were 12 baskets left over!

Where Jesus is concerned, miracles are still happening today and is seen often on Thursday's at Barbara Bennett Park.  Omniscient Jesus provides in abundance in order to sustain this ministry, and because of His provisions thousands have learned of the Good News of Salvation; lives have been touched and changed, healings have been witnessed, rain stops and clouds have parted during ministry, prayers immediately answered and witnessed by all attendees, and growing as well as pruning occurs often.

2 Corinthians 9:6-9“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: ‘He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.’”
